Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS) began operations in 1997 as a corporate body limited by guarantee with the Central bank of Kenya (CBK) as its principal shareholder and the National Treasury as a minority shareholder.
The Kenya School of Monetary Studies was dissolved on May 17, 2024 via gazette notice, rebranded and named The Central Bank of Kenya Institute of Monetary Studies (CBK-IMS).
The Central Bank of Kenya Institute of Monetary Studies (CBK IMS) is the capacity development arm of the Central Bank of Kenya. The Institute provides world-class capacity building programs, executive development, conferences and hospitality services to central banks, financial institutions, government agencies, development partners and private sector organizations.
Located in Nairobi, CBK IMS offers an integrated environment for learning, meetings, conferences, accommodation, dining and recreation all nestled within one secure campus.

CBK Institute of Monetary Studies (CBK-IMS) is strategically located in Ruaraka, Nairobi, along Mathare North Road, off Thika Road (A2).
